Entry requirements
There are no prerequisites for this qualification and is for anyone that must have a PAT testing undertaken i.e. offices/schools/care homes/factories; it is a requirement that all commercial premises have to have equipment inspected and tested annually.
How you'll spend your time
During the course you will learn about the statutory and non-statutory requirements relevant to electrical equipment maintenance, how to understand the electrical units, circuits, components, and definitions associated with In Service Inspection and testing of electrical equipment. The procedures for the in-service inspection and testing and how equipment construction and classification reduces the risk of electric shock. You will learn why and how to carry out inspection and testing of electrical equipment, and the responsibilities and training requirements for personnel associated with inspection and testing of electrical equipment.
You will have in-centre use of the In Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Code of Practice and BS7671
