Course Entry Requirements

This course has some prerequisites being a qualification listed on our Guidance Note 8 document. Some of these qualifications can include but are not limited too;

-NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing

-NVQ Level 2 in Heating and Ventilation

This package has the ability to take its candidates from qualified plumbers/heating engineers to recognised and registered gas engineers; meaning on successful completion registration with Gas Safe Register is achievable (this is a legal requirement).

Course Description

Our course is completed over two in centre modules with a portfolio element required to be completed alongside these modules.  Each module is booked separately to attend centre on the completion of the self study provided prior to attendance via our online learning platform.  On completion of the training both self study and practical, you will be required to build your portfolio. The portfolio requirements will be explained in full detail on the induction of your course and will be completed within your company or with your supporting engineer arranged by yourself and full support provided for this during the time of completion.  You will have access to an online portfolio platform whereby you can upload your work alongside method statements and notes to be marked by our dedicated team and feedback provided.  On completion of the portfolio the final sign offs, assessments and modules are scheduled.

-Plumbing knowledge and skills
-Gas Safety Regulations and standards
-Essential electrics and safe isolation
-Types of certification and reporting
-Managed Learning Programme assessments
-ACS domestic assessments
-Design, quoting and communication skills for a real life working environment
-Gas Safe Registration process and guidance
-Business set up support
Our training in centre comprises of both theory and practical, on a ratio of 8 candidates to 1 trainer to ensure the undivided attention provided to gain the highest level of knowledge retention.

The qualifications obtained within successful completion of this course are;

DNGA3- Domestic Natural Gas Appliances (Central Heating Boilers)

Safe Isolation

ACS CCN1 (Core Gas Safety)

ACS CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis)

ACS CENWAT (Central Heating Boilers and Instantaneous Water Heaters)

LCL Awards Level 3 Award in Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems in Dwellings

Course Timings & Costings

Our course comprises of three modules in total with full details listed in our course description.
Our centre opens from 8.30am until 3.30pm for candidates and sessions are run with an hour lunch break each day.
Priced at £3000+vat this course has included all training, assessments, registration and certification fees, access to the e-learning platform for portfolio, normative reference documents and in centre training copies of the Domestic Training Manuals.
This course is run with a home study focus allowing flexibility whilst you learn from the comfort of your own home for all theory learning to be completed with our workbooks, PowerPoints and normative documents provided.  The in centre days are attended over a 6 month period.

Course Training Manuals

All training materials and tools are provided within centre that you will require to complete any training, practical works and assessments however we do recommend for you to have your own copies of the training manuals in order to use to self study and for reference after completion of your course.

The training manuals we recommend are;

LCL Awards Domestic Gas Manual (charged at £20.05)

All of these books can be supplied through ourselves and collected on day one of your course commencement or pre-ordered for early collection to start studying.

Your general course questions answered

To process a booking, we require some personal details, these include full name, date of birth, national insurance number, postal address, company name and copies of any pre-requisites for the qualification you are undertaking

For any courses under £1999 plus vat payment is required upfront to be booked, for any courses £2000 or over plus vat a 50% deposit is payable with the final balance due within 30 days or two weeks prior to the course commencement date (whichever comes first).

On successful completion of your assessments your portfolio will be internally verified and then sent for processing to the relevant certification body, this in whole takes a maximum of 25 working days.
