Our TPCP1A course is specifically designed for professionals who need to undertake tightness testing and direct purging on commercial installations. This intensive training package will provide you with the essential knowledge and certification to safely and confidently perform these critical procedures.

Who is This Course For?

This course is for experienced Gas Safe Registered engineers who have been on the register for at least 12 months. To enrol, you must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • CCN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety)
  • COCN1 (Core Commercial Gas Safety)
  • COCNPI1LS and CPN1LS (Commercial Pipework and Commercial Pipework, Limited Scope)
  • CCCN1 (Core Commercial Catering Gas Safety)
  • CODNCO1 (Changeover Domestic to Commercial Gas)

 

What You Will Learn

This course provides a deep dive into the procedures and safety protocols required for commercial gas installations. The curriculum is built around the IGEM document IGE/UP/IA, ensuring you are fully compliant with industry standards.

Key topics covered include:

  • Risk Assessments and Method Statements: Learn how to complete these crucial documents for safe working procedures.
  • Strength and Tightness Testing: Master the techniques for testing both new and existing gas installations to ensure their integrity.
  • Purging Procedures: Understand how to safely purge gas installations from air to gas and gas to air.
  • Equipment and Safety: Gain proficiency in using purging pumps and purge stacks, with a strong focus on setting up for safety and controlling the release of gases.
  • Calculations and Diagnostics: Develop a strong understanding of pipe sizing, purging, and strength testing calculations. You will also learn how to confidently read and interpret industry tables and graphs.
  • Technical Documentation: Learn to understand and produce line drawings, and complete all required test results, certification, and client handover documents.
