This support begins even before you finish the package, ensuring that by the time you’re qualified, your new business can be ready to launch for the world to see.

The Budding Entrepreneur’s Package

This qualification package is perfect for the aspiring entrepreneur ready to set up their own business and register with a Competent Person Scheme (CPS). Our course gives you all the essential skills and knowledge to go straight to work, including:

Maintenance & Fault Finding: Learn to diagnose and repair issues with confidence.
Installation & Testing: Master the installation process and understand what your test results truly mean.
Certification: Gain expertise in recording test results and understanding the process for registering with your chosen CPS.

Our Approach to Your Success

From the very beginning, we are committed to making your journey as seamless and enjoyable as possible. We start a new course package every three months with a dedicated welcome day. On this day, you will tour our centre, meet your dedicated trainer and course coordinator, and get set up for success. We’ll show you our online work platform, provide your training manual and learning materials, and load your first theory modules so you can get started right away. We will also check in with you regularly to ensure everything is going well.

During your practical sessions, you will complete jobs in our simulated electrical area to give you hands-on experience and prepare you for your portfolio. While you will complete your portfolio in your own time, our team is always on hand to offer guidance and support if you need it. Throughout your entire course, you will have access to all necessary documents on your online portfolio, along with a dedicated home study contact to answer any questions along the way.

Detailed Course Breakdown

Each section is the equivalent to three days with a total of around 45 days required for in-centre theory & practical training, we have two options for this course, you can either book 3 day blocks for each section or you can complete 1 day a week.

Section 1: Electrical Fundamentals

This introductory phase covers essential electrical theory and safety. You’ll be introduced to our online platforms and key paperwork. Practical skills include safe isolation, understanding Ohm’s Law and power factors, and learning how to install and test ring circuits using ZE and ZS testing.

Section 2: Lighting & Containment Systems

Master the installation of one-way and two-way lighting circuits. You’ll perform both dead and live testing on power and lighting circuits, complete all necessary certification forms, and gain experience installing conduit and trunking containment.

Section 3: Risk Assessments & Wiring

This section focuses on essential safety and professional documentation. You will complete your DEI theory training and workbooks, learn how to create detailed risk assessments and method statements, and perform a full lighting circuit decommission and rewire, including comprehensive testing and completing an EIC (Electrical Installation Certificate).

Section 4: Design & Installation

You will tackle a full design project, work with SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable, and learn about circuit amendments and minor works certification.

Section 5: Heating Controls & Assessments

This section covers wiring for S-Plan and Y-Plan heating systems. You will complete your DEI practical assessments and online assessments. Upon completion, you will be able to start working and earning money to build your on-site portfolio.

Sections 6-8: Advanced Qualifications & Practical Experience

Section 6: Gain your 18th Edition qualification, the latest wiring regulations standard.
Section 7: Complete the Initial Inspection & Verification module.
Section 8: Participate in a full practical experience on our in-centre rigs, including advanced testing.

Sections 9-15: Portfolio & Final Assessment

The remaining sections are tailored to your needs. These sessions will be booked and confirmed after you complete sections 7 and 8. They will include additional theory and practical sessions as required to ensure you are fully competent in all areas, culminating in your portfolio sign-off and final exams.
