This specialised route is designed exclusively for practicing electricians with a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience. If you currently demonstrate high-level technical knowledge and competence but lack the formal credentials, this qualification bridges that gap.
We align our assessment directly with the Level 3 Electrotechnical apprenticeship standards. This ensures your experience meets modern industry requirements, providing a direct pathway to becoming a fully qualified Domestic Electrician Experienced Worker.
Entry Requirement: 5+ years of demonstrable industry experience.
Outcome: NVQ Level 3 Qualification.
Progression: Provides the foundation for the ECS Installation Electrician Gold Card.
Before you enrol, you must prove your eligibility through a mandatory skills scan.
The Process: You complete two comprehensive documents detailing your work history and prior technical experience.
The Review: Our assessors conduct a thorough audit of your background to identify any knowledge gaps.
The Interview: An assessor will call you for a professional discussion to confirm your suitability for the Level 3 standard.
Cost: £60 +VAT.
Once approved, you move into the full qualification phase.
Induction Day: You will attend our centre to complete your paperwork, receive your induction, and collect your online learning credentials.
Theory Exams: You will return to the centre to sit seven online examinations covering core electrotechnical theory.
Portfolio Building: After passing your exams, you will work directly with your assessor, Craig, to build a portfolio of evidence. This showcases your practical competence on real-world projects.
Final Assessment: Your journey concludes with an End Point Practical Assessment.
While you do not need an AM2 assessment to earn your NVQ Level 3, you do need it to apply for an ECS Gold Card. We offer the AM2 as an optional extra; simply speak to our team during your induction if you wish to add this to your training package.

Our 4-day Combined Verification and Certification course gives you the Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification, Periodic Inspection Testing, Condition Reporting and Certification of Electrical Installations certified by LCL Awards, covering both Initial and Periodic Inspections to help you issue compliant certificates and reports. No prerequisites needed.
