What You’ll Learn

Many topics are covered within your package through a combination of home study and practical training sessions. You will gain a well-rounded skill set that includes:

  • Health and Safety: Comprehensive training on health and safety protocols, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Gas Regulations: In-depth knowledge of gas installation and use regulations, including the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations procedures.
  • Water & Heating Systems: All aspects of hot and cold-water systems, central heating systems, controls, valving, and pumps.
  • Electrical Skills: Electrical safe isolation, use of a multimeter, and fault finding.
  • Pipework: Different types of pipework installations, soldering, and pipe bending.
  • Domestic Gas Installations: Meter installations, tightness testing, purging, and pipe sizing for domestic gas installations and appliances.
  • Combustion & Ventilation: Understanding combustion, ventilation, and chimney systems.
  • Appliance Skills: Installation, servicing, and fault finding for domestic gas boilers and instant water heaters.
  • Hot Water Systems: Installation, maintenance, and repair of hot water cylinders (vented and unvented).

  • ACS CENWAT: Central Heating Boilers and Instantaneous Water Heaters
  • Hot Water Systems and Safety: Certification for both vented and unvented systems

 

Our Approach to Your Success

We are committed to your success from the very beginning. Your journey starts with a dedicated enrolment day, where you will tour our centre, meet your dedicated trainer, and get set up for success.

Portfolio Building: A key part of our course is hands-on experience. We include all the support you need to build your portfolio. Your portfolio building will be completed in-centre, and we will arrange opportunities for you to complete “jobs” in people’s homes, giving you invaluable practical experience.

Throughout the course, you will have access to all necessary documents on your online portfolio, along with a dedicated home study contact to support you every step of the way. We check in with you regularly to ensure your progress is on track.

 

Course Structure & Duration

This flexible course can be completed in as little as 12 months with a total of two years for completion.

  • E-Learning: Complete your theory knowledge at home using our online platform, Ecordia.
  • Practical Sessions: Choose between two flexible options:
    • Option 1: Attend one day per week for the duration of your course.
    • Option 2: Book three-day blocks to attend every 4-6 weeks.
