Are you a professional installer looking to gain or renew your qualification in Hot Water Systems and Safety? This intensive, one-day in-centre course provides the essential training and official assessments required for competency in both vented and unvented hot water systems.

Designed for experienced plumbing and heating engineers, our focused training ensures you meet the latest industry standards for installing and maintaining safe, compliant hot water systems.

Who is this Course For?

This course is suitable for both reassessing engineers.

  • Reassessment Candidates: Ideal for engineers who need to renew their qualification. You can complete your reassessment up to six months prior to your current certificate’s expiry date without losing any time on your next qualification.

 

Course Entry Requirements

To ensure you have the necessary foundational knowledge, it is essential that all candidates are experienced in the installation of cold and hot water systems.

You must also hold one of the following:

  • A DCLG-recognized competency in a conventional fuel (e.g., gas, oil, or solid fuel).
  • OR an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent plumbing qualification.
  • OR auditable evidence of equivalent plumbing experience.

A basic knowledge of the WRAS Water (Fittings) Regulations is also required.

This intensive one-day programme provides a comprehensive understanding of hot water systems, including both theory and practical applications. The course includes:

  • Regulations: An overview of all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Theory: The principles of hot water storage and the expansion of hot water.
  • System Components: A detailed look at the function, design, and components of hot water systems.
  • Safety: Understanding safety controls, discharge, and integration of systems.
  • Installation & Maintenance: Practical skills for installing, maintaining, and servicing both vented and unvented systems.
  • Health & Safety: All necessary health and safety considerations when working with hot water systems.

 

Course Details

The course is structured to be completed in a single day at our centre, providing a fast and efficient way to get your qualification. Reassessment Candidates only need to complete the multiple-choice paper.

The package is all-inclusive, covering your training, training handouts, assessments, certification fees, and refreshments. Upon successful completion, you will be fully qualified to work safely on hot water systems.
