This combined course is designed for experienced gas engineers who want to expand their expertise into non-domestic laundry gas installations and appliances. It is also suitable for those who need to reassess their qualifications every five years to maintain their certification. By completing this programme, you will gain the specialised skills and certifications needed to work safely and compliantly in this sector.

Course Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Gas Safe Registration: You must have been registered on the Gas Safe Register for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Proof of Registration: You must provide evidence of your Gas Safe registration upon booking.

You can complete this course up to six months before your existing qualification expires, with the additional time being added to the validity of your new certificate.

  • Appliance Pipework & Regulations: An in-depth look at the specific regulations governing appliance pipework.
  • Risk Assessments: How to properly conduct risk assessments for laundry appliance installations.
  • Appliance Types & Controls: A detailed overview of different types of laundry appliances and their associated controls.
  • Exhaust & Duct Requirements: Understanding the standards for exhaust systems and ductwork.
  • Safety Procedures: A review of emergency controls and automatic isolation valves.
  • Technical Skills: Training on exhaust testing, make-up air requirements, inspection, commissioning, and servicing.
  • Fault Finding: Learn how to diagnose and rectify ignition and other faults.
  • BS8446:2005: A comprehensive walkthrough of the standard for non-domestic gas-fired laundry appliances.

Our Commercial Gas Changeover course is for experienced engineers with a CCN1 qualification or those reassessing their Commercial qualifications. Gain the essential certifications (CODNCO1, CIGA1, etc.) to expand your career into commercial heating and appliances.

12-18 months

ACS Domestic Gas Apprenticeship

Our government and/or Levy funded ACS Domestic Gas Apprenticeship, available for those aged 16-65 years old, with regular enrolment, run one day a week for 12-18 months. We don’t close for the school holidays.
