This course is for qualified gas engineers whose ACS qualifications have expired for more than 12 months. The programme provides a complete refresher on current gas safety standards, regulations, and practical skills, allowing you to regain the necessary certifications to work legally.

Course Entry Requirements

To enroll in this course, you must provide evidence of your previous ACS Gas certificate when you book. This course is not for new entrants to the gas industry but for those with prior experience and expired qualifications who need to get back up to date

What’s Covered?

The 8-day course includes a blend of 3 days of intensive training and 5 days of assessments. You will cover essential topics to ensure your knowledge is current and comprehensive:

  • Up-to-Date Regulations: A full overview of the latest gas safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Latest Training Manual: An in-depth walkthrough of the newest gas training manual.
  • Practical Sessions: Hands-on experience with live gas installations to refresh your practical skills.
  • Unsafe Situations: Changes to the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations procedure.
  • Appliance Safety: Best practices for gas appliance safety, installation, servicing, and repairs.
  • Gas Theory: Core gas theory relevant to domestic properties.
  • Flue Gas Analysis: A detailed look at what flue gas analysis is, why it’s important, and how to perform it correctly.

 

Qualifications You Gain

Upon successful completion of the assessments, you will regain the following core ACS qualifications, which are necessary for Gas Safe registration:

  • CCN1: Core Domestic Gas Safety
  • CPA1: Combustion Performance Analysis
  • CENWAT: Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
  • HTR1: Domestic Gas Fires & Wall Heaters
  • CKR1: Domestic Gas Cooking Appliances
  • MET1: Domestic Gas Meters

 

Course Duration

The course runs for 8 days in total, giving you ample time for both training and assessment to ensure you are fully prepared to re-enter the gas industry with confidence.
